Baojun 530 SUV on the Chinese market

In mid-November at the auto show in Guangzhou there will be presented Baojun 530. The mid-size crossover is a creation of the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture. The novelty will be delivered to the Chinese market in the first quarter of 2018. The car makers are sure in a great success of the new car judging from the younger Baojun 510, which went on sale in February and quickly became a bestseller.

The dimensions of Baojun 530 are similar to the seven-seat Baojun 730 minivan. They have the same wheelbase of 2,750 mm, but the SUV is slightly longer (4685 mm), wider (1835 mm) and taller (1760 mm), which means that the space allows installing the third row of seats. The exterior and interior design belongs to the Steve Hume’s team. They also are responsible for Baojun 510 appearance.

The power equipment of 530 crossover is different. Comparing with Baojun 510 model with only a 1.5-liter petrol V4 with 112-hp and 147 Nm output, the new version has got two engines under the hood. The first is 137-hp 1.8-liter atmospheric and the second – 1.5 turbo engine generating150 horses. Most likely, both transmissions will be six-step – mechanics and robot iAMT. It is expected that the basic price will not exceed 85,000 Yuan, while the 510th can be bought for only 54,800.
