New BYD Tang was presented in Shanghai with the new hybrid power plant

At the Shanghai Motor Show Chinese automaker BYD presented to the public the concept of hybrid off-road vehicle named Tang, equipped with a hybrid power plant. Debut of the car took place at the end of 2014; the manufacturer has even produced a limited series of new products in the modification of Ultimate Edition, which copies were equipped with a powerful engine generating 555 horsepower.

In Shanghai, the same concept is presented with a new power unit, which is more suitable for mass production. The motor range includes 2.0 liters gasoline turbo engine capable of providing 205 horsepower, and two electric motors with 150 hp strong output. Overall output will be 505 horsepower and 820 newton / meter of torque.

This mighty power plant is paired with four-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission. The BYD Tang car accelerates from zero to hundred km / h in just 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 180 km / h. The details about an electric range, unfortunately, are not discovered by the manufacturer. It is also unknown when the novelty will appear in the automotive market.
