Landwind X7 – the copy of famous English Range Rover Evoque

As it became known, in the beginning of this summer Landwind Chinese automaker is going to start selling on its domestic market new SUV X7, which is essentially a double of famous Range Rover Evoque. This is the result of a joint effort of two local automakers: Jiangling Motors and Changan Auto. The premiere of the car took place in 2014 at the Guangzhou Auto Show.

Chinese Landwind X7 SUV is the most accurate copy of the English Evoque both outside and inside the car, that was the cause of a huge scandal in its time. British brand leadership took the matter to the court for protecting their copyright, but they failed to achieve a successful result.

As an absolute copy of the British crossover, Chinese Landwind X7 will cost at home three times cheaper than the original Evoque. Chinese SUV will cost 24 thousand dollars, while the English model in the Chinese market costs 71 000 dollars.

Under the hood Landwind X7 will be powered by 2-liter turbo engine that develops 190 horsepower and provides 250 Nm of torque. The car will be equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed “automatic”. Landwind X7 will be available only in Chinese auto markets.
