China has opened the sales of BYD Yuan

BYD Company has released a new BYD Yuan crossover in the Chinese market. The new SUV is equipped with two versions of the power plant – a traditional petrol and hybrid. The brand’s representatives announced a price for crossover with a petrol engine. It will be from 59.900 to 121,900 Yuan, as for the hybrid version, it will be sold at a price from 209,800 to 249,800 Yuan.

The BYD Yuan petrol crossover will be supplied by one of two engines. The first variant will get a 1.5-liter atmospheric motor that is able to generate 109 horsepower and of 145 Nm of torque in conjunction with the mechanic transmission. The price of this car will make 59.900-85,900 Yuan. The second variant will be provided by a turbo engine of the same capacity. It will deliver 154-hp and 240 Nm and work together with a DCT automatic. The drivers will need to pay from 85,900 to 121,900 Yuan to buy the turbo BYD.

The most interesting is a novelty with a hybrid power plant, which consists of the same atmospheric engine delivering 109-hp and two electric motors located on the front and rear axles. It means that the car will be 4-wheel drive. The manufacturer promises an acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and 85 km run without batteries charge. The cost of the hybrid crossover starts from 209,800.
