FAW upgraded its Besturn B90 flagship sedan

FAW Chinese automaker (First Automobile Works) announced the launch of an updated version of the series flagship sedan executive class Besturn B90. In China, the car is sold under the name FAW Pentium B90б and its production began in 2012. In this case, we are not talking about the full restyling – exterior design and specifications of the car as a whole remained the same. Overall dimensions are the same: the length of the car is 486 cm, the wheelbase is 278 cm, the vehicle weight is 1450 kg.

However, the motor line has changed. New Besturn B90 received two turbocharged engines: 1.8-liter with capacity of 186 hp and a peak torque of 235 Nm and 2.0-liter with 204 hp and maximum torque of 260 Nm. Both power units are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the developers of the new Besturn B90 improved the tire-pressure monitoring system and added automatic headlamp cleaning system.

The car is designed on a platform of Mazda 6 second generation; originally it was equipped with Mazda motors. The first option – the two-liter power unit (147 hp) paired with a proposed six-speed manual gearbox or six-speed Aisin automatic. A more powerful 2.3 liter engine (160 hp) was completed with only automatic transmission.
