MG introduced its first crossover

MG unveiled the first in its history serial crossover GS, preliminary information about it appeared in late 2014. The premiere of the off-road vehicle took place in the Shanghai motor show. The crossover is built on a new platform, developed jointly with the Chinese corporation SAIC, which is the owner of the British brand MG. Overall length of the model was 4500 mm, width – 1855 mm, height – 1675 millimeters, and the size of the wheelbase is 2650 millimeters.

New crossover will be offered with both front and all-wheel drive. Its motor range will include the 1.5-liter supercharged engine developing 168 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, and the two-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine, developing 220 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. Power plant will be paired with the six-speed manual or automatic transmission with two clutches of a similar range.

MG GS can be ordered with LED daytime running lights, leather interior, as well as information and entertainment complex with a 6- or 8-inch touch screen. Chinese MG GS sales will begin in the first half of 2015. The new car will reach UK in early 2016. Representatives of the company noted that the European version of the model will be different from the Asian version, but what exactly will be different is not specified.
