2018 BYD Tang – a new great Chinese SUV (part 2)

The second generation BID Tang crossover is equipped with a hybrid power plant, borrowed from its predecessor. The 505-hp power plant includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 205-hp and 320 Nm output, two electric motors (150-hp and 200 Nm) and a 6-speed robotic DCT. The package also includes four-wheel drive, as well as 18 kW/h rechargeable batteries, which can overcome up to 85 km in electric mode. This technical arsenal gives the car excellent dynamic characteristics; the crossover accelerates in 4.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h.

2018 BYD Tang – a new great Chinese SUV (part 1)

The new Chinese cars of 2018-2019 are represented by BYD Tang crossover of a new generation. The official premiere of the novelty is scheduled for the auto show in Beijing in the spring of 2018, but BYD Auto decided to declassify the appearance of the new generation SUV earlier. According to preliminary information, BID Tang novelty will receive not only a hybrid modification but also traditional turbo engine and a fully electric power plant. The market launch will start in China in early summer of 2018 at a price of 270000-300000 Yuan for the hybrid version and 150000-16000 Yuan for the petrol model.

New BYD Tang was presented in Shanghai with the new hybrid power plant

At the Shanghai Motor Show Chinese automaker BYD presented to the public the concept of hybrid off-road vehicle named Tang, equipped with a hybrid power plant. Debut of the car took place at the end of 2014; the manufacturer has even produced a limited series of new products in the modification of Ultimate Edition, which copies were equipped with a powerful engine generating 555 horsepower.

By 2017, the BYD Company will released four new crossovers (part 1)

The Chinese manufacturer BYD seriously intends to settle in the most popular segment of the world market – SUVs and crossovers, so by 2017 the company from China plans to release four new high-performance models. At the top of the lineup will be a big seven-seat model with a hybrid drive and six electric motors.
