A Chinese startup is developing flying cars to soar over the country’s notorious traffic jams. XPeng Aeroht, which touts itself as the largest flying car company in Asia, is an affiliate of Chinese EV manufacturer XPeng Motors and has been designing prototypes of flying electric cars meant to ease traffic chaos.

Incredible footage shows pilots taking the XPeng X2 model out for test drives over lakes and empty roads in China.

The two-seater model equipped with four engines and eight propellers is envisioned to allow for low-altitude flights suitable for short-distance trips and for various uses such as tourism and medical transportation.
