In case you didn't notice, there's a chip embargo against them, businesses are fleeing at a historic pace, their economy is in free fall, and they're on a demographic cliff, not to mention near an all out war with Taiwan, and thus U.S., Japan, and other Nato countries (Ukrain part 2). You really think a made in China electric car has a chance, even assuming Munro is right (he isn't) in terms of long term QC, from a country that's made "Made in China" a punch line ? I don't think so … and don't even get me started on the people part harvesting they're known for, which makes supporting such a regime imoral even if they produce quality cars… but wait, you say … these cars are from private companies … there's a law that all companies have share everything with the state, who uses that control to pull the levers when anyone from the company doesn't adhere to party policies.

13. If we're going to have easier access to cheaper and at the same time better cars how is this bad. If American producers keep turning out garbage and China ends up giving us something better what's the problem? Why be loyal to American car companies if American car companies are only out to screw you?
    Let's be honest Chinese cars will be an improvement over some American brands. I'm talking about junk like Tesla, Dodge and GM. Fords are just fine. But anyway I don't know if you guys are trying to make this sound scary or bad anyway because you're doing a terrible job at it. This is actually pretty awesome news.

24. I've been thinking this would happen for some time now. That is up until now. Now there is a shift in World economic and military power. The BRICS nations are going to replace the current world financial system and world War will cut the supply chain to us from China.

28. Once China builds must of our technology, what would stop them from controlling the device, ie, turn your car off until you pay or do X. Technology is great… When we are building it here with a somewhat of a moral code.

29. We got too many lawyers, politician and not enough engineers. In other words, we need people that can solved problems not just BS their way of things. Mr. Munro is a wise man.

31. China can be successful in the US, but they need to respect the Intellectual Property laws of the US in order to succeed. Otherwise they will end up in constant lawsuits. I also wonder if worker morale in China will erode over time as Xi continues to take away people’s rights and allows the oligarchs to continue to steal from the rank and file. Talented engineers may flee if this continues, as many were educated overseas and won’t be motivated to make China a great car manufacturer.

37. Tesla has established a business / management culture of: 1. Recognize the contributions of employees and appreciate them publicly and reward their efforts, 2. Offer them opportunity by helping them grow and promoting them, 3. Treat them fairly – all employees have those same opportunities and share alike. With this culture in place, they have their pick of the best available employees, (and their loyalty). The digital management system, and the culture of valuing innovation and problem solving has the company years in front of others and accelerating. Eventually it will be hard to tell Tesla from the world economy. They will probably turn out to be the same thing.

38. The Japanese culture was open to CHANGE. They welcomed continuous improvement and their junk became much better than the big 3 American cars. Plus they were small and there was a gasoline crisis. They walked away with the market and in months, or maybe years, Hondas were outselling Chevrolets. America never recovered and now the same big 3 are making the same mistakes, while Tesla is out Japanesing the rest of the industry.
