Chinese auto giant debuts car assembly plant in South Africa
A Chinese automaker is building South Africa’s largest vehicle factory. Beijing Automobile International Corporation (BAIC) is setting up shop in the Coega Special Economic Zone in Port Elizabeth. The company has invested 100 million dollars in the project, which is one of the agreements that China and South Africa signed back in 2015.
