  6. This is a niche idea. Imagine the line of cars waiting to get batteries swapped. It would have to scale massively to work, like a parking garage sized lot.

  7. In the near future your going to see a hydrogen revolution taking place that's going to make Battery powered EV'S a footnote in history. I was just recently lucky enough to attend a meeting with several large named corporations that were discussing the plans they have on taking the hydrogen that's currently being extracted from oil wells as waste product and will start capturing it to sale as fuel. Currently it's being burned off in waste flare stacks. This is going to make hydrogen fuel for vehicle's a cheap alternative.

  11. Two main issues here:

    1. How the battery stations will compete with plug in cars as the charging time less and less? Right now you have to charge your car over night for it to be full charged in the morning but in a few years this time won’t be as nearly as much.

    2. How much will cost Nio to build all those stations? As they sell more and more cars the need for more stations will increase as well. If you have to wait in a long line in order to swap your battery the whole efficiency idea is out of the window.

  15. Interesting concept. Not interested though. Too much risk. If the company ever departs your country you are stuck with a car with no battery as you can't own the battery.

  19. This is also the only way EV's are ever going to work. Imagine buying an EV and selling it after 7 years. Oops the batteries need replacing. What? The car is declared totaled now? Yeah…
